Example of a PAIP case note
This example uses a made-up client, to show the format and level of detail you’ll receive.
Purpose: Build independent use of the NVDA screen reader in Microsoft Outlook, to meet the client’s goal of managing work email for an administrative assistant position.
Assessment: The client reads messages with NVDA and Down Arrow but can’t yet reply, attach files or move between folders without help. Typing is accurate at a steady pace.
Intervention: Practiced reading the message list, replying with Control + R, attaching a file and moving between folders, with five practice messages. The client completed four of five tasks on their own by the end of the session.
Plan: Homework: reply to three practice messages with an attachment. Next session: Outlook calendar, accepting and creating meetings.
